Four trading days took 15.61 tenge off the currency, 3.6%. The euro’s rate rose 6.55 to 509.53, the rouble’s 0.02 to 5.37 and the yuan’s 1.08 to 67.86 on the same day.
The weighted average of the day session on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange on 6 October was 453.65, Kazinform reported at 16:02, and the National Bank’s rate for 7 October is that figure, 1.33 below Tuesday’s. Exchange offices in Astana quoted the dollar at 449 to sell and 456 to buy, in Almaty at 451.55 and 453.86, by Kurs.kz.
Four trading days took 15.61 tenge off the currency, 3.6%.
The only other daily moves above 5 tenge in the series since 30 August are a fall of 6.10 on 11 September and the step of 5.82 on 3 October, with the rate at 462.31 on 1 September and 464.77 at the end of August, so the tenge at 454.98 is still 7.33 stronger than on 1 September. Its base rate is 16.25% with the next decision on 23 October, and September inflation was 9.3%.
