Gasparyan's sentence on the mechanism, as Armenpress printed it: “Our contacts with Russia matter here, and so do our possibilities within the EAEU, since specific mechanisms exist.” Armenpress named neither the Russian agencies nor the goods. The Russian wires' accounts of the same briefing fill the list: flowers and certain vegetables, fruit and berries from late May; Jermuk mineral water from 22 May; cognac and wine from Armenian producers, suspended by Rospotrebnadzor from 23 May; live fish and fish products, whose certification stopped on 2 June, by Fontanka's count. Lenta's list runs to stone fruit, from cherries to nectarines, and grapes; Vedomosti's to tomatoes, greens, strawberries and dairy. Fontanka adds that Yerevan had already lodged a complaint with the Eurasian Economic Commission in June, and Vedomosti that on 19 August Rosselkhoznadzor said the restrictions could ease once Armenia submitted inspection reports on corrective measures.

The visit that did get announced points west. At 09:03 on Wednesday Armenpress reported that Nikol Pashinyan was heading to Paris on a working visit; the report carried no programme, meetings or dates, and the prime minister's own site listed no visit later than the Kyrgyz trip of 31 August to 1 September. The Kremlin's announcement of Monday, that Pashinyan would come to Moscow "in the near future" and that the referendum he dropped would be on the table, had drawn no reply on Armenpress's Russian front or on News.am by Wednesday morning.

Deputy foreign minister Mnatsakan Safaryan and Uzbekistan's deputy foreign minister Bobur Usmanov held political consultations in Yerevan on the bilateral agenda, trade and investment, high technology, education and tourism, transport infrastructure and the restoration of direct flights between Yerevan and Tashkent, Armenpress reported at 15:37. No document and no date were announced.
