Uzbekistan's starting lineup for the Group K match against Colombia at the Estadio Azteca has been confirmed: Utkir Yusupov in goal; Rustamjon Ashurmatov, Abdukodir Khusanov, Abdulla Abdullaev and Sherzod Nasrullayev in defence; Odiljon Hamrobekov, Otabek Shukurov and Farruh Sayfiyev in midfield; Abbosbek Fayzullaev and Oston Urunov behind Eldor Shomurodov. Colombia counter with Luis Diaz and James Rodriguez supporting Luis Suarez up front, with Davinson Sanchez anchoring the defence.

Colombia's odds imply roughly a 62% probability of a win; Uzbekistan's chances are assessed at around 17%. The historical context cuts both ways: Colombia have not recorded a goalless draw in any of their 22 World Cup matches, which means goals are likely, but Uzbekistan's form through AFC qualifying — one loss in 16 matches — shows a defensively organised side that is hard to put away. Shomurodov's nine direct goal contributions in qualifying make him the focal point.

One defeat in 16 qualifying matches. Shomurodov: five goals, four assists. The White Wolves arrive in form.

The match is being broadcast on FS1 and Telemundo in the United States, BBC and iPlayer in the UK, and across regional broadcasters in South America. In Tashkent, the kick-off falls at 07:00 local time on 18 June — after a day at TIIF that already made the country visible on two different stages at once. The Foreign Investors Council plenary opens a few hours after the final whistle.
