ABADA secretary general Kanan Gurbanov announced the pilot via APA-Economics. The e-TIR system replaces the paper TIR carnet with the UN economic commission’s electronic guarantee, cutting dwell time at borders; the pilot runs the guarantee across the trans-Caspian leg for the first time on this pair.

The desk’s watch on the Turkmenbashi-Baku spine has waited for anything to convert beyond protocol, and digital customs paperwork going live is the first such signal. It joins a regional series: the world’s first air e-TIR ran between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in early 2023, and Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan ran their first road operations in May. The corridor’s software is arriving ahead of its dredging.
