Prosecutors opened the public case on Monday, and against the second president it runs to 9 episodes: 3 of abuse of authority, 2 of bribe-taking in especially large amounts, 4 of laundering, with investigators mapping transfers made in Sedrak Kocharyan's name in 2001 to 2019 at about 144 billion drams plus $309 million, 77 million euros and 18 million rubles, as we reported on Tuesday.
The father's track stopped at a hospital door. Robert Kocharyan was taken from the committee to a clinic on Tuesday after his blood pressure rose; the Anti-Corruption Committee said the health of a man held pending a custody motion "deteriorated", and Bagrat Mikoyan of his office added that a recent medical procedure had prompted doctors to order further checks. By Tuesday evening the defence said no hearing had been scheduled at all.

The opposition has settled its line. "This is not a legal process; this is the open servicing of the state apparatus to one person's political fears and vengeance," the Armenia Alliance faction said in a statement on Tuesday. The court now holds one clock and the hospital holds the other.
