The site covers 793 hectares. It lies at Shaidon in Asht district, in the northern Sughd region, and work began there in November 2025 on the initiative of Ayon Energy LLC, the press service said in an account carried by Avesta. A 220 kV double-circuit line of 9.8 kilometres, on 36 towers, takes the output to the Asht substation.
More than 500 workers of the Tajik contractor Tojikgidroelektromontazh and specialists from China built it. Forty locals have permanent jobs.
By the official account the plant lifts Sughd’s own generation base by 61% and will cover 40% of the region’s demand. It should also cut the losses from carrying electricity from the south of the country over long distances. The account also recommends storage of at least 200 MWh as soon as possible.

With the new stage the plant can turn out 30,000 tonnes of refined lead, 1,000 tonnes of copper matte, 40 tonnes of silver and 100 kilograms of gold a year from the Zarnisor deposit’s concentrates, the press service said.
