Armenia’s parliamentary committee takes up the TRIPP agreement on Wednesday

The National Assembly’s foreign relations committee debates the ratification of the framework agreement on strategic cooperation with the United States on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity on Wednesday 21 October, with Ararat Mirzoyan as rapporteur. Ratification itself falls to the plenary, which opens on 27 October.

The draft went onto the parliament’s agenda on Monday evening, NEWS.am reported at 20:32 Yerevan time. The Standing Committee on Foreign Relations will debate “the draft on ratification of the framework agreement on strategic cooperation between Armenia and the US on the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) regional transport project” on Wednesday, the agency wrote. Ararat Mirzoyan, the minister of foreign affairs and international trade, will be the committee’s rapporteur, and the plenary session that follows opens on 27 October.

The agency’s report gives no signing date for the agreement, no vote threshold and no timetable for works on the route, and names no other document beside it. The route is the transit link across southern Armenia agreed in the Washington declaration of 8 August 2025, which the Japarov-Pashinyan joint statement of 17 October cites beside Armenia’s Crossroads of Peace and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, as CAW reported on Monday.

Ararat Mirzoyan, the minister of foreign affairs and international trade, will be the committee’s rapporteur, and the plenary session that follows opens on 27 October.

Neither the Armenpress nor the NEWS.am front carried an item on the Electric Networks of Armenia, on the local elections of Sunday 25 October or on Yerevan’s reading of the American waiver on Monday or Tuesday morning. The next dated step is the committee itself, on Wednesday.
