Speaker Ruben Rubinyan told parliament on Tuesday, answering the opposition’s Marianna Ghahramanyan, that a crime had been committed by an Azerbaijani serviceman who illegally crossed the border, and that it was very good that the Azerbaijani side had informed Armenia as soon as it discovered he was missing. Before this case, he said, servicemen of each side had ended up on the other’s territory many times and been returned without trouble.
The serviceman, Nasimi Musayev as the investigative committee names him, was moved to a medical centre in Yerevan on Monday evening, Axar reported from Baku. The charges printed by Armenpress run from illegal border crossing and the smuggling of military goods to grievous bodily harm with a firearm, the offences of article 166, article 207, article 335, article 340 and article 469 of Armenia’s Criminal Code by the prosecutor general’s statement of 2 October, and Sanamyan’s post had no named successor on Tuesday.
