The prosecutor’s office said it had opened the prosecution on 2 October under part 1 of article 469 (illegal crossing of the state border), part 1 of article 340 (smuggling of military goods, equipment, firearms or other items), part 1 of article 335 (illegal trafficking of firearms, their main parts and ammunition), part 1 of article 207 (violation of the inviolability of a dwelling, the code’s name for unlawful entry into a home) and points 4 and 6 of part 2 of article 166 (causing grave harm to health). The record of the incident is Thursday’s, from the two prosecutors general: at about 14:00 on Thursday Musaev entered a house on Shaki’s 6th Street, in the Sisian community of Syunik province, opened fire when he was discovered and wounded a woman born in 1987, Armenia’s prosecutor said, and he was detained at 15:30. Baku’s Military Prosecutor’s Office called him a conscript from a unit in the Lachin district and opened a case against him for leaving it. Thursday’s pages called him Nasimi Musaev, and the committee’s statement on Friday prints Nasim Rahim oglu Musaev.

The committee had gone to court earlier in the afternoon with a motion for arrest as the measure of restraint, and announced the order after 16:00. Neither the committee’s statement as News.am and Armenpress carried it, nor the prosecutor’s, names the court or prints the date on which the 2 months end.
Health minister Anahit Avanesyan wrote on Facebook that the condition of the woman wounded by “the Azerbaijani soldier who crossed the border of the Republic of Armenia in the village of Shaki” is stable and her life is not in danger, that her children’s condition is satisfactory, and that they have received psychological and medical help, Armenpress reported at 11:36.
The penalty ranges published so far are the two News.am printed on Thursday: up to 5 years in prison under part 1 of article 335 and up to 2 years under part 1 of article 207. Neither outlet printed on Friday the ranges for the border crossing, the smuggling count or the grave-harm count. No defence counsel has spoken on the record.
Baku’s two prosecutors’ offices had added nothing to Thursday’s statements on Report’s or APA’s home pages by 12:40 Baku time, before the Armenian court’s order. At the CAMCA forum in Baku, which gathers Central Asia, Mongolia, the Caucasus and Afghanistan, presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev said that revanchism persists among Armenian youth and called on Armenia’s government “to work very seriously on preparing its people for peace”, APA reported at 12:00.
The same afternoon Pashinyan told the Eurasian Economic Union’s premiers by video link that the TRIP route would open direct rail between Armenia and Azerbaijan, News.am reported. The case in Sisian runs on its own clock: 2 months of custody and 5 articles, three of them with no penalty range yet published.
